Abstract
Nicholas J. Spykman wrote two long articles in 1938 and 1939 on geography and foreign policy and on geographical objectives in foreign policy. In this concise essay, the Author highlights the richness of his thinking, his originality, and his farsightedness. Spykman’s in-depth analysis of the political-strategic significance of geography, as illustrated here, also serves as an excellent introduction to the methodology of geopolitics.
